ORZBOW Baby Carrier Cover Review

Choosing a baby carrier cover can be just as hard as choosing a baby carrier.  I definitely spent many hours researching the internet for the best baby carriers for petite mums, the best one for all year round, the best with a waistband etc. Then even more hours trying to find the best cover for a baby carrier, again all weathers, price, adjustability, and comfort for both of us.

When choosing a cover, you really want to look out for:

  • The season it can be used for

  • Is it wind and waterproof, or just waterproof?

  • Is it easy to put on and off, adjust whilst carrying your baby?

  • Price and value, can it be used as a nursing cover, changing mat?

Review:

After all this, I went for the Orzbow Baby Carrier Cover and am glad I did.  Here’s my honest opinion:

  • Waterproof – yes!  We first used it in a thunderstorm with light to medium rain for roughly 20-30mins and kept the little one completely dry. We've used it many times afterwards and has always been great

  • Warmth – the inner fleece layer is a massive plus as it keeps baby very warm and cosy (in the summer months I adjusted how many layers baby was wearing if using the cover)

  • Adjustability – it has a zipped hood, so is detachable, allowing you to adjust it depending on the weather.  Also the straps are easy to adjust before using or whilst carrying baby. The bottom part of the cover has two-way zips that can allow toddlers extra freedom and growing space

  • Portable – yes! It is very lightweight and comes in a storage bag

  • Feeding - as the hood can be taken down or zipped off, you’ll still have a good view of baby as they feed, so keeps them nice and snug, whether it’s breastfeeding or bottle feeding

  • Comfort and design – with fleece lined pockets for you, you keep your hands warm and toasty. There are two options of design, dinosaurs or rabbits.  Also, this cover can be used as a footmuff/snug with strollers

Me and baby have been through the winter months with this cover now and it has kept him very warm, dry and snug. It also got us through an unexpected thunderstorm and not a peep of rain had got onto baby! Can’t say the same for me though, I was drenched haha. But that’s exactly what baby wearing is all about for me, making memories outside with my baby, and being able to embrace the outdoors.

I have only used this cover whilst my little one was facing inwards, and whilst in this position, I am comfortable saying it is waterproof, windproof and keeps baby happy, dry and snug. I would however, like the option of taking out the fleece lining for use in spring and summer weathers and to have more choice of designs.

For the reasonable price of £25.99 (Amazon) this cover ticks all the boxes, is easy to use, portable and fits most baby carriers.

Overall - 4/5 (only as I would like more design options).

Happy walking!

Update:

As of August 2023, a new mesh option is available! A great choice for hotter and summer months.

Update:

Using this cover the second time round, it has been really easy and efficient to use, and definitely worth buying. I would however, like there to be an option of thickness in-between the two versions, as when layering baby in the winter months, you do need to be mindful of how long you will be spending outside, the coat they may be in and then the fleece cover too.
